Hidden High Calorie Foods and Beverages

You may be very surprised to learn how many calories many of your favorite foods contain; generally it is way more than we'd like to believe. Below is a list of food and drinks that many people think are low calorie, or just don't think about at all.

Coffe House Coffee Beverages:

  • Peppermint Mocah 16 oz 410 calories
  • Pumpkin Spice Frappachino 16 oz 470 calories
  • Pumpkin Spice Latte 16 oz 410 calories
  • Hot Chocolate 16 oz 310 calories
All of these beverages are mentioned at 16 oz yet more than 70% of people order a large which is approximately 24-32 oz!!
 
Alcoholic Beverages:
  • White Russian 8oz 355 calories
  • Mojito 6oz 180 calories
  • Champagne 8oz 182 calories
  • Mudslide ONLY FOUR OUNCES 295 calories!!
  • Long Island Ice Tea 8 oz 710 calories
That's just the popular beverage! You could easily drink away your daily caloric intake in one sitting! Now let's move on to the food.

High Calorie Foods:

  • Granola 1 cup 600 calories
  • Energy/Protien Bars 1 bar 350 calories
  • Smoothies 8 oz 500 calories
  • Fast Food Salads 800 calories
  • Wraps 700 calories
A lot of these foods are preceived as healthy, but truth of the matter is they are high in fat, sugar and calories.
 
So what's the best options? Be careful of what you eat. Stick to foods you make at home and skip the drive through and the packages; becuse even if they are labled healthy they're most likley not! If you must go to the coffee house creat your own beverages with low fat or fat free milk, sugar free syrups and skip the whip! If you need to eat out skip the premade salads and create your own with low cal dressings and skip the cheese and breaded chicken!
 
As long as you pay attention and read labels, you can avoid these diet saboteurs!
